Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Repair shop backed up my data. But under "documents" I find only hp.system.package.metadata. Are my files in there somewhere?

No, this folder is not related to this. Please, check with this repair shop where your files are.

 

Just speculating but if you have used OneDrive before (built-into Windows 10) and if you gave them the password for the Microsoft account, your files might be there.
