I formatted my HP notebook using the wrong Windows DVD, I need to restore the original OS with the factory settings sitting in a locked volume on the hard disk! Is there anyway I can restore it to factory settings?

The new installed windows does not have any option to do that and the notebook is not supported by HP anymore!

If the Recovery Partition is still on the hard drive you might be able to get that to run by setting the partition as active and running the recovery at startup.  Not sure if you will like that as it will be back to factory Windows OS with no updates and a long road ahead to get the updates installed.

That was great until I got "Error Code 100a if this keeps occurring contact HP"

It seems like it's a dead end! HP stopped supporting this premium notebook for some reason and no recovery discs available for this model.
