Hello again!
I have just a quick question about the way restore CDs work. As listed, I have an HP Pavilion dv4305us with Windows XP Home Edition. It was released in 2004 (at least that's what the COA says) before recovery partitions were used and uses restore CDs if any of you saw my previous question. When you use a recovery CD, does it pull the OEM Windows XP product key from the motherboard? Thanks in advance!

No, you have to use the key on the CD or on your machine. Only Windows 8 and laters have Windows keys embdded in BIOS.
