Hi @Rasya24,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0x0000428 typically indicates that there is an issue with the Windows boot configuration. Below are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem on your HP laptop:

Check Secure Boot Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by restarting your computer and pressing the F10 (or other designated key for your HP model) repeatedly as the computer starts up.

  • Navigate to the Boot section.

  • Disable Secure Boot and enable Legacy Support if required.

  • Save the changes and exit the BIOS.

Repair Windows Boot Loader:

  • Insert a Windows installation disc or USB drive and boot from it.

  • Select your language preferences and click Next.

  • Click Repair your computer at the bottom left.

  • Select Troubleshoot, then Advanced options, and choose Command Prompt.

  • In the Command Prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each one:

    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

Run Windows Startup Repair:

  • Boot from the Windows installation media.

  • Select Repair your computer.

  • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair.

Check for Hardware Connections:

  • Ensure all components, including SSD and RAM, are securely connected.

  • Reseat the SSD and RAM in their respective slots to ensure a good connection.

Updates and Drivers:

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @Rasya24,

I am sorry for the ongoing issue.

Kindly perform the system test and check:

To run a UEFI hardware test on your HP laptop, power it off, then turn it on and repeatedly press Esc, then F2 to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI menu, where you can select "System Tests" or "Component Tests" (like Memory, Hard Drive, etc.) and run a Quick or Extensive test to check for hardware failures, getting a 24-digit failure ID if an error occurs.
