Hello I would greatly appreciate some guidance and help dealing with this error when trying to run the recovery usb to restore to a new drive. Facts of the case HP Laptop Model 17-by2053cl , Product ID 28P03U#ABA, laptop is a little over 2 years old.
Hard drive failed. Purchased new Samsung 870 500 gb SSD to replaced failed HD. Installed new Samsung SSD. Used HP Cloud recovery app to download recovery drive to USB ( Using the product ID) , it stated it was a Windows 11 image being made. After successfully making the recovery drive, I plugged it into the HP Laptop and booted off of the recovery drive, after maybe 10-15 seconds the circle came up and started spinning and a then came to a blue screen where the command prompt screen opened and closed very very quickly 3 different times, then finally a very small window came up in the middle that stated "Recovery Manager Application Close (Info) No HDD "Error". I have tried all 3 usb ports on the laptop with the same result. Here is what I have done since this to try to make this works successfully,.
1. Made a second recovery drive on another 32gb usb drive. No luck
2.Did a hard reset battery drain on the laptop, taking battery out and pushing power button. No luck
3. Successfully installed Windows 10 from a download form MS per the USB media creation too.
4. Made a 3rd USB recovery drive on this laptop with the HP Cloud recovery info auto filled in, Same failure result.
So I have come to the conclusion either the download image is corrupt or it is the wrong image in the HP vault. The only other item I can see that may be causing the issue is the Bios says original OS was Windows 10, the download through HP Cloud recovery for this product ID says Windows 11. I have look high and low through these help forums and google search and have not found a solution to fix this issue when restoring from the Cloud recovery drive, I am hoping someone from HP support sees that can can steer me in the proper direction.
Yes I realize I can just do the driver installs and supplies software, but would really like to restore this laptop to its original factory state with recovery drive.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
