HP ENVY x360 - 13-ag0042au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to restore my HP ENVY x360- 13-ag0042au to factory settings.
The recovery disk was created from the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.
I have tried running it several times,
Each time Recovery Manager shows "Restoration Incomplete" CTOERROR.FLG is shown below.

Only AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics is shown as Result=FAILED, and of course, since it is an APU, the graphics cannot be replaced (I saw a post with almost the same display by a user who replaced his wireless card)

I would appreciate your wisdom.

Hi:

Sometimes the recovery fails because of trial software with a 30 day license has long since expired.

The solution to that problem is to set the current date to the 'Born on' date in the BIOS.

The problem is that I don't see any failures related to that kind of problem.

You can try that and run the recovery again, and if that fails, then the only suggestion I can offer so you can get your notebook to work again would be to make a bootable W10 installation flash drive with the Media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Paul_Tikkanen, thanks for the advice.
I tried to set the BIOS time to the software date and time, but the symptoms didn't change, I gave up and decided to build from clean windows.

You're very welcome.

Sorry, that setting the date to the 'Born on' date didn't work, but at least you have a fully operational notebook again.
