Hi,

My computer kept showing the “blue screen” after two days of trying to restart I eventually decided to do a factory reset. It would not let me back up my files, nor would it let me return to a “previous version”.

I am now being presented with a screen that reads “Restoration Incomplete. The restoration did not complete. Please select one of the following buttons: Save log/Details/Retry” I have retried several times and this does not work.

Under details it says...

[C:\SYSTEM.SAV\bbv\BBV2_EUE.cmd] has started...

Looking for *.cmd in [C:\SYSTEM.sav\P2PP\BBV2.eue] folder...

All *.cmd in [C:\system.sav\P2PP\BBV2.eue] folder have been called.

Error Checking

Looking for *.log in [C:\system.sav\Logs\BB] folder....

It then goes through a load of files with “is found” at the end and then

[C:\SYSTEM.SAV\ExitProc\ErrorChk\ChkError.cmd]has started...

Check SW error...

a bit further down it says “There is TIMEOUT in install.log file.

As you can probably tell, I am very much out of my depth with this but I was desperate to get it sorted as I have a lot of work to do! If anyone could offer some idiot proof advice that would be great.

Thank you in advance, Sophie 😊

Hi, Sophie:

See if this works...

Using another Windows PC, make a bootable recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery client utility.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

There is a trick to getting the tool to accept the product number.

Immediately after entering the product number in the window, press the Enter key.

If you click off that window, it will report an invalid product number.
