HP OMEN 15-5200 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We managed to accidentally delete the partition of the wrong drive (meant to be external HDD not internal). I am in need of a link to download onto a usb stick the recovery files to factory setup and I can't find a link anywhere. Urgent help required.

HP OMEN Notebook - 15-5251ne (ENERGY STAR) brought back in 2016.

Hi:

I've done that before.  Glad that I'm not the only one.  😊

Unfortunately there are no W10 recovery downloads for your notebook.

But you can clean install W10 by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

You may be able to contact HP in the UAE, and see if they sell W10 recovery media for your notebook...

Hi Paul,

Thanks for you help.

How do I find the licence, usually it is stuck on the PC but it is no where to find on the laptop?

Regards

Greg

You're very welcome, Greg.

The product key is in the BIOS.

You don't need it to (re)install W10.

Even since W8 came out in 2012, Microsoft requires all PC manufacturers to put the product keys in the motherboards BIOS.

No more product key stickers.

You cannot see the product key in the BIOS.

After you get W10 installed you can run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below, that will show you the OEM product key in the BIOS and the version of W10 it is good for.

You will be able to save or print the report.
