You're very welcome, Roger.

Someone must have upgraded your dv6-6c75ea, because that model originally came with Windows 7 from the factory.

When you boot from the W10 disk you make, on the lower left side of the installation window, there will be a repair option.

You would select that and from within that menu, there will be a few repair choices.

But if you have to reinstall Windows 10, as I wrote earlier, you won't need a product key as long as W10 was previously activated.

Hi:

You can make W10 reinstallation/repair media from the link below.  Use the Media Creation Tool.

The HP DV6s came with Win7 preinstalled, not Win10.

So, as Paul indicated, you have to make your own media for Win10.

Personally, I prefer using a third-party tool known as Macrium Reflect as it is FREE and has a lot more options that built-in or MS solutions:

Macrium Reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or entire drives: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR)
2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB stick
3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD

My experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 50% of the USED space in the OS partition.  This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 20GB to store the image file.

I use this all the time and it typically takes less than 10 minutes to do the image backup and about the same time or less to do a restore.

Plus, MR has the option to Add a Recovery Boot Menu entry.  This allows you then to boot into WinRE, and you can then use that to do a restore -- when you can't boot into Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full working system from the external drive or USB stick in only a few minutes.

Good Luck

H, Roger:

Since you had previously upgraded to W10 and as long as it was activated, if you need to reinstall it, you don't need a product key.

There will be an option to enter a product key but there is also an option to check 'I don't have a product key.'

That is what you select to reinstall a previous installation of a W10 upgrade.

To use the repair option, you do not need a product key either.
