I created recovery media on a usb drive when I first had my laptop when prompted to do so.

As there has been a recent BIOS update do I need to update my recovery media and make a new one?

If so, how do I do that as I have tried and HP Recovery Assistant tells me I am not allowed to do so as the original had already been made and only one is allowed?

Not only that but what about loss of the original. How would I replace that?

Hi:

A BIOS update would not be a cause for the recovery media you made not working.

You can only make one set of recovery media, so if you lose it, you would have to order recovery media from HP.

You can also make your own plain W10 recovery media by downloading the W10 media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Then you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

The W10 media you make will work with the W10 product key in the BIOS.
