How to fix red screen recovery

Hi @Herbert1723,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a red screen recovery error on your HP PC, it typically indicates a firmware, BIOS, or boot-related issue. Here's how to resolve it:

1. Perform a BIOS Recovery

If your PC shows a red screen with messages like “Invalid Signature Detected” or fails to boot:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key + B key, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the recovery

2. Reset BIOS Settings

If you can access BIOS:

  1. Turn on the PC and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  2. Select Restore Defaults or Reset BIOS Settings.
  3. Save and exit.

3. Reinstall Windows (if needed)

If the red screen persists and BIOS recovery fails:

  • Create a bootable USB using the Windows Media Creation Tool.
  • Boot from the USB and reinstall Windows.

4. Run HP Diagnostics

  • Press Esc at startup, then select F2 for System Diagnostics.
  • Run a full test to check for hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
