Hi,
I recently purchased a refurbished grade A Chromebook from John Lewis and I have two questions:
- I've added it to my HP account and it shows as only having one month of support so although it's been back to the factory, apparently you don't reset your support contract which is disappointing.
- Initially the machine was very slow to update the contents of apps like Pics eg copy a few pictures to local storage via USB which show as present in file manager, but if you launch the Pics app they don't appear for several minutes.
- Initially my MP3 library access via the Pulsar app was erratic with several albums not listed and if I tried to play them from my micro SD card they came up with the wrong album art etc. To be fair I had initially put about 100Gb of data onto the micro SD card including quite a few pictures. I would have expected it to take a few minutes to index everything, but this behaviour continued for a day or so. It is now behaving as I would expect. The only slightly odd thing is that I have a few movies which I've ripped into a lowish resolution (720 x 406) which won't play in the Pictures app, but will play from the Gallery app and also VLC media player. Was this expected behaviour as I'm new to Chrome ie it takes a couple of days to settle down?
- I did look on your support site, but unlike support for Windows there doesn't seem to be much in the way of HP diagnostic tools to verify that my machine is ok. What, if anything should I download from the HP site?
Regards, Ed
