Hello, the only way I was able to get the current Windows 10 Pro version 1909 installed was to do a clean install of Windows 10. (note: In the original update attempt, I kept getting the error message that my updates were being rolled back; hence, the clean install.) However, I have no hp or original software on my machine - no HP Support Assistant, no Cyber Link Power DVD player, etc. Is there any way to get my laptop back to its original factory settings?

Hi:
The only way to do what you want would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool which is going to reinstall W10 Home of the build that came with your notebook (1803, 1809...)
Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205
What you may want to do, is to get Home updated to v1909 and then upgrade back to W10 Pro by using one of the two methods described below...
Upgrade using your digital license for Windows 10 Pro
To upgrade, select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & Security > Activation .
If you have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, and Windows 10 Home is currently activated on your device, you'll see one of two messages when you select Go to Microsoft Store:
If you see Install, select the button to install Windows 10 Pro.
If you see Buy, you may need to purchase a Windows 10 Pro license. Or, try to sign in to Microsoft Store with the Microsoft account that was used to purchase the Pro license. Then, follow the instructions to install Windows 10.
or:
Upgrade using a Windows 10 Pro product key
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & Security > Activation .
Select Change product key, and then enter the 25-character Windows 10 Pro product key.
Select Next to start the upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
If you don't want to do the above, then your only other option would be to live with the available software from your notebook's support page.

You can download the HP support assistant software from the link below.

Hi Paul,
THANK YOU!! I was able to use the link you listed to download the DVD player app (tested!) and HP Support Assistant. There are others I need to download, but I'll do those later.
fwiw - I currently have the Pro version installed (1909), but your instructions might help someone with upgrading from Home to Pro. The original build on my laptop was Window 10 Pro version 1703.
