Hi all,
I've recently encountered a problem: my HP laptop gives me a prompt asking for a bitlocker recovery key. From searching online, it appears that the key should be in my Microsoft account; unfortunately I am locked out of said account because of a security transfer.
I have attempted to reinstall Windows (I do not have any data I want saved; it's all in the cloud), but when booting from the flash drive, the touchpad does not work. The keyboard occasionally works, and when it does, I can get to a screen that ask about a missing driver.
The iso file I used was downloaded from Microsoft's web site, and flashed onto the USB flash drive using dd on a friend's work computer.
Is there something special I need to do for the installation process?
Edit: I see there's a HP cloud recovery tool; is there a version that works under Linux, or do I have to find someone with a Windows PC to do the recovery?
