I changed my SSD and installed a recent 1909 Window new. So I lose my previous recovery partition - but hey, it contains anyway an outdated Windows version.  Device Manager shows two missed drivers. But to my surprise all drivers found after a search for drivers. So it seems I don't need to download all that drivers of HP's support page, or do I miss something?

BUT: I think I missed some functionality in BIOS ?!? There was before some Tests in Bios to chose (as for instance for Battery).

How does it is linked? What do I have to do to get this functionality back?

@starbright_

The BIOS code is embedded in the firmware of the PC and is not part of any software you install.

When you replace and OS like Windows, it does nothing to the BIOS code, so it did not remove anything from it.

If however, you were using something from the former HP_TOOLS partition, since that is gone, you are not going to be able to get it back, or the tools it contained.

Thanks WAWood,

I think the HP tools partition is small, I can add this again. Do you know about how does BIOS finds this one? Has it to be at a special place/position or is it recognised by its name?
