Hello Everyone,

I am the Operation's Director for my company and responsible for the ordering and dissemination of computer supplies to my staff in the field.  I purchased a laptop in April of this year and sent it to one of my employees who resigned recently.  Without my knowledge one of the employees, since they did not have the previous users' credentials, created a local user account for another user.  I have reacquired the laptop, but I am not able to do a factor reset because the login screen for the previous user is no longer there for some reason for me to sign-in to it.  I tried to do a factory reset by holding down the "Shift and Restart" but when it boots up to the Advanced options screen it only allows me to do the following:  1. Startup Repair, 2. Command Prompt, 3. Uninstall Updates, 4.  UEFI Firmware Settings, 5. System Restore (from a restore point) 6. System Image Recovery.  It is impossible to do the last choice.

If anyone can provide some assistance, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello @jamescabi

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

(1) Counter question: Who is responsible for IT security and maintenance in your company ?

(2) Does the affected notebook have a valid HP warranty ?

Kind regards
