Well, that is a lot easier. I don't know what is your Pavilion x360 but you can replace its existing HDD with a 2.5" HDD or SSD (faster).
Since your machine previously ran Windows 8, you can do a clean install W 8.1 for free by using ISO file from the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows8ISO
You can make a bootable installation media (DVD) and you can use installation media to install.
The link also says you don't need the key. Machine will activate automatically using the key in BIOS. Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.
Now, what is your Pavilion x360 ? I need information to be able to give you 2 links : manuals and drivers.
