My error with Bitlocker was not resolved so I purchased a new replacement SSD. Thus the new SSD does not have any software on it.  So I need to install Windows on to the SSD..

I have checked through the HP PC Hardware  Diagnostic UEFI and the new SSD  checks out ok - no problems (using F2 on startup)

On startup I select F10 which takes me to the BIOS Setup Utility.  Under Main and System Information  the new SSD is shown under Storage device - all good.

I believe from this BIOS screen there should be options for 'System Configuration' that would allow options to load Windows on to the new SSD. I do not have these options and it may be as this laptop is viewed as commercial and not consumer? I do not know if this is true?

In the BIOS I see the other aspects.. 'Security' and 'Advanced' but not the 'System Configuration' option.

How am I able to access the System Configuration part of the BIOS (which would probably resolved my issues with the Bitlocker/ Windows loop)?

Picture shows what I see on my BIOS System Utility screen... And below that what should be seen on the screen

Welcome to HP Support Community, @PGD55

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

1. Create Windows installation media
Use another working computer to download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. Insert an 8 GB or larger USB drive and use the tool to create a bootable Windows installation USB.

2. Boot the HP laptop from the USB
Insert the USB drive into your HP laptop with the new SSD installed. Power on the laptop and immediately press F9 repeatedly until the Boot Device Options menu appears. Select UEFI: USB Drive to start Windows Setup.

3. Start Windows installation
When the Windows Setup screen loads, click Install Now. When asked for the installation type, choose Custom: Install Windows only.

4. Select the new SSD
You will see a list of drives. Select the Unallocated Space on the new SSD and click Next. Windows will automatically create the required partitions and begin installing.

5. Complete the setup
The system will restart several times. After the first restart, remove the USB drive so the system boots from the SSD. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows setup.

6. Final state
Once setup is complete, Windows will load normally from the new SSD. BitLocker will be off by default, and no BIOS “System Configuration” changes are required.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
