My laptop hard drive is dead and needs to be replaced. But I don't have any recovery disks, etc. If I get a new hard drive, is there any way for me to get Windows reinstalled without having to buy a new copy?

Hi:
After you replace the drive, your notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive and another PC running W7 64 bit or newer (since your PC is not working).
