Hello, a friend has asked me to rebuild her 15-B129wm as the SSD has failed.

When I replace the drive, will the computer download the OS, or do I need a rebuild disk?

Where would I get that rebuild disk?

You have to manually install Windows on new drive using  (assuming it runs Windows 10 now)
