Hi
I have bought a 2nd hand Folio, and when I tried to enter the BIOS to change the boot order, it asks me if I will log into F10 as guest user. If I press "no" cause I want full access, I can select the user of the person I bought it from, but he does not remember the password, and therefore I cannot access the full BIOS.
How can I solve this?
Thanks.
Nick

Hi,
You'll need to Contact HP Business support - they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.
You can contact HP Business Support in your country via
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
or
https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
Just to note, don't try removing the rtc battery. It won't remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as smc files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the smc will cause it to fail.

Hello, i have a similar problem, I've bought a Hp Elitebook 9470m from Ebay and I can't access the bios because I don't know the password. I've tryed to speak to hp support but they said they don't give those smc.bin files anymore. Any suggestions?
