HP Recommended

I inherited a laptop when my mother passed 2.5 years ago. It got packed away, and I just found it this past weekend. Her phone and email have since been deactivated, leaving me.no way to get access into the laptop, as it wants to send verification codes to these sources. How can I reset this laptop to factory? At this rate I am impressed that it charged, accessed the internet, and did the necessary updates .

If the PC is 5 or less years old, you can make a bootable USB recovery drive on another PC with the HP cloud recovery tool.

If the PC is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool, you cannot factory reset the PC, and your only option in order to use the PC would be to clean install Windows 10 or Windows 11 as applicable, by making bootable USB installation media with the Microsoft media creation tool.
