I have a HP Touchsmart tx2-2005TX notebook. The original OS was Win7. I had upgraded it to Win8 before I used another PC, as I was not quite satisfied with Win8.
Recently, I tried to have the PC notebook restored to the original factory settings. The process stopped at 77% and prompted me to use recovery disk. This happened again when I made another attempt. I used the recovery disk I have (totally, six CDs - which I am not sure whether they actually are), but it was shown that the disk does not support the system. I have no other recovery disk.
Now, when I switch on the machine, there is a message that boot manager is missing and it cannot load to the usual logon page.
In this situation, what can I do in order to bring this notebook to normal? how to restore to default settings?
Moreover, the built-in Wi-Fi function and the removable battery both did not work long time ago.
Many thanks.

@TC_TSWHK I'm afraid your device is not designed to work on Windows 8, as per the user/maintenance guide of your PC: click here to confirm,
For further assistance on installing Windows 8, I suggest you check with a local tech,
I hope you understand.

@TC_TSWHK It looks like the recovery media you have is either corrupt or missing files, as its not doing what its intended to do, that said, I suggest you order a new set of recovery media: Click here for steps.
And use the same to reinstall the original OS back on your device.
Good luck!
