Hello,
I want to restore my notebook, but I got it with Windows 8.1 64-bit Edition and now I have Windows 10 64-bit Edition installed.
How can I recover it to Windows 10 ?
Thanks.

That is correct. You will go from 8.1 to 10 for free.
As far as which option...That is really up to you.
If it were me, I would select the keep my files option.
The remove everything option would be primarily if you were planning on selling or giving your notebook away.

Hi:
You can reinstall W10 as follows...
You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, if your PC is not working.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.
Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...
Select Download tool now, and select Run.
If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.
Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.
Select which media you want to use:
USB flash drive. Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.
Then you can reinstall the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

Thank you for the quick response, I got couple of questions:
- Can I use my own laptop to make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool ? my win10 is working but i want to format my laptop and install win 10 fresh from start.
- Can I use the option "windows system refresh" from HP recovery manager ? will it install win 10 ?

You're very welcome.
Yes you can use your PC to create the W10 installer.
Yes, you can use the system refresh option, but it will reinstall W8.1.
That isn't a problem either, because you can upgrade back to W10, by clicking on the blue Update Now button on the Media Creation Tool link.

so just to understand, the Update now button on the Media Creation Tool link will update my notebook from from win 8.1 to win 10 for free ?
and which option do you recommend me to use in the windows refresh system:
1. keep my files
2. remove everything
thanks
