Hello,
I recently purchased an HP TouchSmart TM2 laptop for the purposes of utilizing the stylus to draw. (I am a writer and wish to illustratemy books) The laptop did not come with any software discs, neitherdidthe seller have them, and recently the hard drive has completely crashed and is irrecovoerable.
I know that many manufcaturers have CDs that have the proper O/S with drivers to restore the laptop, often in conjunction with a partition on the hard drive that holds the installation files.
However, for me, since I lost the entirety of the hard drive, I no longer have that data. When I go to HP's support to download the files, there are no files to restore the operating system, and no ability to order a restore disc.
How do I restore my laptop's O/S and drivers?

You're very welcome.
HP no longer sells recovery media for that model PC, but if you live in the USA/Canada, you can still order from this non-HP vendor.

If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on the Microsoft COA label on the PC's case you can try making your own W7 installation media as follows...
Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link below to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.
This link downloads a file that accesses the Microsoft Techbench W7 ISO files and generates the ISO file download you need.

Select the Windows COEM ISO file download for the version of W7 the product key is good for.
I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or DVD, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.
Then you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page...

Hi:
What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?
What operating system did it originally come with from HP?
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
Please do not post the serial number.
