Good afternoon team,
I brought my laptop in the year 2018 (Brand Name: HP) with inbuilt MS Office Home & Student 2016 specifically for my college purpose. I recently in the year 2023, due to slower system performance i gave my laptop for a service centre and they suggested me to upgrade my SSD to improve the system's performance. During the course of service they updated the OS due to which i lost access to my inbuilt MS Office without my knowledge. Later the service centre urged me to us the email ID that i used to login with my Microsoft account. I tried using my email id that i used earlier when i brought my laptop into MS Office account. But, i am unable to get access to my inbuilt version after trying multiple attempts using the registered email ID.
kindly note: I am also not sure with the registered email ID that i used when in brought my laptop.
Currently, i am pursuing my doctorate and to assist my study i am in high need of access to MS Office. I am not in a position to afford a new MS OFFICE to my system, since i already planned my purchase with an inbuilt version to avoid the usage of cracked versions available in the market.
Kindly consider my situation and assist me in retrieving my MS OFFICE inbuilt version.

Two problems right off.
First, we have no info on the MS Office product key. Since MS Office came preloaded, you should have received a card with the product key on it because YOU have to register that with Microsoft to activate Office. HP has nothing to do with that. HP keeps no info on that, so we have no way of providing you the key.
Second, if done correctly, migrating an OS from an HDD to an SDD will result in no losses whatsoever. I have done this on ALL the PCs I support and have lost NOTHING in the process. I have also upgraded several from Win10 to Win11, and once again, have lost NOTHING in the process. So I have no idea what they did to cause you to lose MS Office, but there is no way we can get that back for you. And we have no influence over, or contact with, the HP Service Centers.
Your best bet is to contact HP Customer Service to see what they will do for you:
