HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Model: 14-dw0522sa
Microsoft Windows 11

I am working on a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Model: 14-dw0522sa for one of my grand-nieces . The screen is cracked and the “touch screen” no longer functions. but also the touch pad does not work. The computer was “updated” to Windows 11 (from Windows 10) in March 2023 and there are no Windows 11 drivers available for this machine on the HP website.
I know that the screen probably needs replacing, but cannot think why the touch pad is not functional. I would like to revert the machine to Windows 10 and it is outside the “10 day window” to do this, so can anyone advise me of the best way to do this without loss of accounts, data or settings? I do not have a Windows 10 Licence Key.

Hi:

Unfortunately, you would not be able to reinstall W10 without loss of accounts, programs, data or settings, since the only way to go back to W10 would be via a clean install.

You can back up any data onto a portable hard drive and the best thing to do would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool which will create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with the PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility:  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

If you have to use another PC to install the tool on, you will need to enter the product number for your PC to create the recovery media, which is:  1E0Q6EA#ABU

Hello,

Failed at the first step - cannot download the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, it only has the option to run, and then it wont run because it needs administrator permission and says to run as administrator, but I am trying to run it from an administrator account!
So, can't download it or run it as administrator!!!!

DOH!
I didn't realise that the HP Cloud Recovery Tool had installed! So now I've found it and am running it.
