ZBook x2 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased a ZBook x2.  When right-clicking on the desktop, the arrow disappears and is replaced by the spinning blue ring. The desktop will remain unresponsive with the blue ring for almost exactly two minutes before the pop-up menu appears.  This occurs after a system reset into a fresh install of Windows with no additional apps installed and no apps running.

Windows 10 Pro build 1803 17134.950 .

HP support assistant recommends 7 updates. I will run the updates and report back.

EDIT: All HP updates were installed, as well as the latest Windows update (2019-08 Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems KB4023057)
The problem remains.

I did some searching and eventually found a solution.

The issue seems to stem from loading nVidia options into the contextual menu. A registry tweak provides the fix.

I followed the instructions at this link.
https://www.howto-connect.com/fix-right-click-on-desktop-taking-too-long-in-windows-10/

Short version:
1) Run regedit and find the following key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT => Directory => Background => shellex =>ContextMenuHandlers => NvCpIDesktopContext

2) Right click on NvCpIDesktopContext and select Delete.

Also, when I disable the default custom scaling percentage, the desktop background turns black.
