I have a brand-new unused HP ProBook 450 G8 with Windows 10 Pro 20H2.
From minute one, the right half of my spacebar was completely unresponsive. I'm right-handed and have grown accustomed to tapping the right-side of the spacebar since I was a child- this is severely impacting my type speed. The middle and left side work fine, nothing on the spacebar appears broken or wobbly either. The entire laptop was in pristine condition when I unwrapped it. Hoping this is something that a simple software update can fix.
Can someone please offer some advice?
I posted this under Hardware Questions over a month ago but didn't get any response. Wondering if this is a better place for it.
Thanks so much.

Sorry, but it's got nothing to do with software. Spacebars usually have small metal rods underneath them that spread the pressure across the bar so you can press anywhere on it and make it work. On desktop keyboards, these bars can come loose be are easily re-attached. In laptops, that is a very different story -- and I thing you would have to replace the entire keyboard to fix this -- with with a modern laptop, can be very expensive.
IF this was mine, I would return it for a refund or an exchange because there is nothing you can do to fix this.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
