Ryzen 5 5600 is extremely slow, takes three to five minutes to load Windows, this is a fresh install all new drivers and a fresh bios.

I forgot to add that there is a passcode at boot up, and I have to wait at least 3 minutes at the login screen or it will just lag and never load.

Hi @GlennMc777,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to here to offer assistance with HP products and services. As you're experiencing performance issues with an HP product that includes a Ryzen 5 5600 processor, it might be related to the configuration, installed applications, or other hardware settings.

Check for Bloatware or Unnecessary Programs:

  • Uninstall any programs you don't need. Sometimes pre-installed applications can slow down the system.

Driver and BIOS Update:

  • Ensure that all drivers and the BIOS are up-to-date. You can do this via the HP Support Assistant or manually from the HP website.

Operating System Updates:

  • Ensure that your operating system is updated with the latest patches and updates.

Check Background Processes:

  • Open Task Manager and check for any background processes that may be consuming too much CPU or RAM. Disable or remove unnecessary startup programs.

Optimize Boot Settings:

  • You can adjust the settings to reduce the boot time, possibly by disabling Fast Startup in Windows.

Hard Drive Space and Health:

  • Make sure there is sufficient free space on your hard drive. Consider defragmenting the disk (if it's not an SSD).

Take care and have an amazing day!
