Hi @Mayin2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Turning off S mode in Windows 11 should be a straightforward process, but errors can sometimes occur. Here's a step-by-step guide with some additional troubleshooting steps you can try.

Steps to Turn Off S Mode

Open Settings:

  • Press Win + I to open the Settings app.

Navigate to Activation:

  • Go to System > Activation.

Switch Out of S Mode:

  • Under the "Switch to Windows 11 Home" or "Switch to Windows 11 Pro" section, select Go to the Store. (If you don't see this option, it might be in the "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section.)

Open Microsoft Store:

  • In the Microsoft Store, you should see a page titled "Switch out of S mode". Select the Get button and then Install.

Troubleshooting Steps

If you encounter the error "Something went wrong, unable to continue," try the following steps:

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Switching out of S mode requires an active internet connection to communicate with Microsoft servers.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your computer.

Sign In to Microsoft Account:

  • Ensure you are signed in with a Microsoft account. Switching out of S mode might require you to be logged into a Microsoft account.

Clear Microsoft Store Cache:

  • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type wsreset.exe and press Enter. This will clear the cache for the Microsoft Store. Once the process is complete, try switching out of S mode again.

Troubleshoot Microsoft Store:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Find "Windows Store Apps" and run the troubleshooter.

Reset Microsoft Store:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
  • Find "Microsoft Store" in the list, click on it, and select Advanced options.
  • Scroll down and click Reset.

Run System File Checker:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator. Press Win + X and select Windows Terminal (Admin).
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This will check for and repair any corrupted system files.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
