Laptop was loading home screen when auto repair came up. It said the repair failed. I shut laptop down and started it back up
Whenever laptop boots up I get a 301 error message.
ran diagnostics and the following failure ID appeared. Don’t know what it means, can I fix the problem or do I need to have my laptop repaired?
FAILURE ID: 0SJF0K-94X9P2-XD7URA-60FC03

Hi:
The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure, means the hard drive is about to fail, or has failed, needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook. The HDD & R & procedure can be found in chapter 6.

You may want to consider replacing the hard drive with a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W10 by using the HP cloud recovery client utility to create a bootable USB installation drive. You will need a 32 GB flash drive for that.
Here is an info link on how to use the HP cloud recovery client utility...
