Hi -
I have installed Windows 7, 32 BIT in this VERY NICE HP2000 that has a 1.30GHz AMD E-300 with Radeon HD Graphics motherboard.
Have downloaded and installed ALL the drivers 'available' on the HP website for this model - including the BIOS upgrade.
One item - SMBus - shown in Device Manager list is NOT activated.
Sure would appreciate a LINK TO THAT DRIVER from anyone who knows where it is.
Thanks - in advance - for your help. . !
Patrick

Hi, Patrick:
HP does not include the driver for that device for any of their AMD chipset based notebooks.
I have zipped up and attached the smbus controller driver you need below.
Download and unzip the file to its folder. Do not do anything with the files in the folder.
Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC.

Hi Paul -
As usual - you are on target and fast with the RIGHT STUFF to help your clients.
You are FANTASTIC.
Your fix worked as stated.
Paul - I know you probably don't know the answer to this but:
Why wouldn't HP have that (SMBus) driver available along with the others?
Kinda 'curious' isn't it . . ?
New issue - same computer - RE: WebCam
I've installed ALL the various Cyberlink drivers. A L L of them.
When the laptop boots I get an error message stating that the DRIVER and software for the camera is NOT available.
Hmmmm.
Suggestions please.
Thanks again Paul. When in Central Florida next a fancy lunch is ON ME... !

You're very welcome, Patrick.
A good question for which I do not have the answer to. I raised it myself to HP a couple of times, and asked that they include the amd chipset drivers on the support pages for AMD-based notebooks, like they do for the Intel ones.
Nothing ever came of it, so I gave up.
Regarding the webcam issue...unforutnately, I don't have an answer for you on that one. The Cyberlink YouCam software is all you need to get the webcam to work.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try a more recent version of the application than what is listed on your notebook's support page.
This package contains the CyberLink YouCam Software for the supported notebook models and operating systems. CyberLink YouCam is a webcam application that enables users to capture images and video from a web camera and apply visual effects to captured images and video.
