Product: Hp EliteBook 2570p
Operating System: Linux

I bought an used HP EliteBook 2570p whose BIOS  was locked and would like to reset it. For this task I require a SMC.BIN file, as far as I have read. Due to this, I would like to obtain the file.

I am afraid this is not possible.

HP no longer provides BIOS password or any other pass reset assistance. Here is the official policy >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824

 

* You need to have your system board replaced to remove the password *

However, having the motherboard replaced for this old model 2570 might be a challenge. If you have purchased this unit from a company, consider returning it back and buy another unit or a brand new PC >> https://store.hp.com/SpainStore/Merch/Default.aspx
