Product: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

SQL Server 2017 installation in my notebook requires another installation of a stand-alone update KB2919355 but this Windows Update KB fails to be installed with an error as follows: "Installer encountered an error: 0x80248014".

 

When I try to install SQL Server 2017, it gives the following error:

Rule "KB2919355 Installation" failed.

KB2919355 Check Failed. If you have installed KB2919355, please make sure you have restarted your machine. For more information, you can visit https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2919355/

 

Then I opened the referred page and tried to install 2919355 (in order, as per instructions) but no luck.
