Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook Maintenance and Service Guide
The M.2 slot only supports SATA SSD's, not NVMe. See chapter 1, page 2 of the manual.
You would be able to install the Samsung 860 SATA M.2 SSD.
