Hi @Ivan537,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry you're dealing with these frustrating issues with your HP Notebook. Let's work together to get it sorted out.

To start, could you clarify a couple of details?

  • When you see artifacts after booting from USB, are they graphical glitches (like lines or strange colors) on the screen, or do they look more like error messages?
  • Have you tried any different USB drives or USB ports for the boot process?

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check BIOS Settings for USB Boot

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup (typically by pressing F10 as the laptop powers on).
  • Under Boot Options or a similar menu, make sure that Legacy Support is enabled and the USB drive is prioritized as the first boot option. Save and exit.

2. Try a Different USB Drive Format and Tool

  • Sometimes the USB format or tool used to create the bootable drive may cause issues. Try creating a new USB using Rufus, with the GPT partition scheme (if your system uses UEFI) and NTFS file system.

3. Test the USB Drive on Another Computer

  • Insert the bootable USB into a different computer to see if it works. If it boots correctly there, it helps confirm the USB is set up properly, and we can focus more on settings in your HP Notebook.

4. Reset BIOS to Default Settings

  • Go back into BIOS (F10 on startup) and find an option to Reset to Default Settings. This can clear out any settings that might interfere with booting. Save and exit, and then try booting from the USB again.

5. Check Hardware Connections and SSD Installation

  • If the laptop went to recovery mode after copying the HDD to SSD, there might be an issue with how the SSD is recognized. Turn off your laptop, open it (if you're comfortable), and double-check that the SSD is securely connected. Re-seat the SSD if necessary, and try booting again.

If these steps don’t solve it, there may be a deeper issue with the motherboard or GPU causing the artifacts, in this case I recommend you contact phone support or the nearest service center.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
