Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I currently use a HP ProBook x360 440 G1 from 5 years ago. I've tried to get windows 11 but I need to enable secure boot. But my laptop always shows "Bootloader not found Hard disk - 3F0" error.

I enter BIOS -> BIOS SETUP then go to ADVANCED and go to BOOT OPTIONS then turn off LEGACY BOOT while keeping UEFI boot on, after that I go to Secure boot Configuration and turn on "LEGACY BOOT DISABLED AND SECURE BOOT ENABLED" but when I turn on my laptop it doesn't work. I have gotten back to legacy boot and the laptop works fine, but as windows 10 will end in 2025 I want to upgrade to windows 11 but I can't because of secure boot. Why is this?

(I have posted this message many times but no one has explained it to me in a simple way)

Hi @Saig39

The issue is that you are changing the boot from legacy to UEFI and this needs to reinstall windows again, you can not upgrade, if you want to see what works on your disk re-enable legacy and you will see enter windows.

I don't know how many times you are going to ask the same question over and over again, but the forum rules of participation prohibit posting duplicate posts.

Not to mention your question has been answered several times before and I personally gave you two videos where you can change from MBR to GPT without having to reinstall Windows, and there many other videos to search for regarding this topic.

You other option would be to upgrade to W11 24H2 as your notebook is currently configured by watching this video:

How to install Windows 11 24H2 on Unsupported PC (Early Access) 2024 (youtube.com)

Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).

Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

You can download the free 7-Zip file utility from the link below.  The top line is for 64 bit.

7-Zip

You'll have to repeat this procedure each October when Microsoft rolls out the new builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.

Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.

That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.
