I have an HP-Pavilion model 14 (bought in 2018), when I try to turn it on the message comes up 'Selected Boot Image Did Not Authenticate Press enter to continue.'  When I press enter it just turns off again. I tried pressing F10 (to get to the System BIOS as per other forums instructions to the error message) before the message appears and the laptop just beeps loudly and the error message remains.  I have tried the same for all the other F keys and Esc with the same result.

Not sure what else to try - any help is really appreciated.

Tun on the PC and immediately tap the ESC key, not long press it.   Tap, tap, tap...

If that works, select the F10 setup menu and press the enter key.

Then see if disabling secure boot, saving the settings and restarting the PC gets it to work again.

Thanks for the suggestion - I tried tapping the esc key but it still just goes straight to the error message and if I press the esc key after the error comes up it just switches back off.

You're very welcome.

Sorry that trying that approach did not not work either.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try other than trying a forced reset of the notebook.
