Greetings,
Would someone please help me with setting up my laptop?
A few days ago I crashed the system.
I replaced the SSD 128 to 500. I believe I know how to make a partition for recovery however when I boot the system and press the F9 or F11 it shows the l)ocation of old data. How to I replace info?
Further more, where would someone be able to locate the software that came pre-installed when I bought? The software is as follows:
1) DVD player/burner
2) Touchpad Software
3) HP equalizer
I thank you for taking the time in reading this and hope someone is willing to give me the directions?
FYI: I tried HP and that was truly worthless.. ( maybe these billion dollar company shouldn't out source support)

You mentioned making "a partition for recovery" -- but if what you did was copy the original Recovery partition from the old drive to the new one, that will not work.
Additionally, HP does not provide downloads for apps that come preinstalled on the PC.
What you need is something known as HP Recovery Media ...
HP Recovery Media is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities.
In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.
You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update". If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entry and click on Order Media for details.

When you get the media, if it is a USB stick, insert it into your PC, pressing F9 to get a Boot menu, then select the External USB Hard Drive to boot from it.
