Hi @Jay2144,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Victus is showing the message: “Boot Device Not Found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk,” it means your laptop can’t detect the hard drive or can’t find a bootable OS. Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix it:
1. Run HP Diagnostics:
Hard Drive test:
1) Shut down the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once.
4) Go to Component test.
5) From the list, run the Hard Drive (extensive) test.
2. Check BIOS for Hard Drive Detection
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly.
- Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
- Go to the Storage or System Information tab.
- Do you see your hard drive listed?
- Yes → Go to Step 2.
- No → The drive may be disconnected or failed.
- Do you see your hard drive listed?
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
