Hi @Popengena,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the sign-in issue on your HP Chromebook 360.
Check Internet Connection:
- Ensure that your Chromebook is connected to the internet. A stable connection is necessary for signing in and verifying your account.
Verify Password:
- Make sure you are entering the correct password. Passwords are case-sensitive, so check for any uppercase or lowercase errors.
- If you have changed your Google account password recently, ensure you are using the most current password.
Restart Chromebook:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve sign-in issues. Turn off your Chromebook and turn it back on.
Sign in as Guest:
- Try signing in as a guest. If this works, it indicates that there might be an issue with your specific account or profile.
Password Reset:
- If you are certain the password is correct but it’s still not being accepted, try resetting your Google account password from another device:
- Go to the Google Account Recovery page on another device.
- Follow the instructions to reset your password.
- Try signing in again on your Chromebook with the new password.
Check for Updates:
- Your Chromebook might need an update. If you can sign in as a guest, check for system updates:
- Sign in as a guest.
- Click on the time at the bottom right of the screen.
- Click on the gear icon (Settings).
- Click on "About Chrome OS" at the bottom of the left panel.
- Click "Check for updates" and install any available updates.
Clear Cache and Cookies:
- Sometimes clearing the cache and cookies can resolve sign-in issues:
- Sign in as a guest.
- Open Chrome browser.
- Click on the three dots at the top right and select "More tools" > "Clear browsing data."
- Select "All time" for the time range, check all the boxes, and click "Clear data."
Powerwash (Factory Reset):
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset (Powerwash) on your Chromebook. This will erase all local data, so make sure to back up any important files:
- Sign in as a guest.
- Click on the time at the bottom right of the screen.
- Click on the gear icon (Settings).
- Scroll down and click "Advanced."
- Under "Reset settings," click "Powerwash" and follow the instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
