Chapter, 2 page 6, item #8 of the service manual shows the location of the SIM card slot.

 

HP EliteBook 828 G3 Notebook PCHP EliteBook 820 G3 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Note that the SIM card is useless without the optional and expensive WWAN adapter that is needed to connect to a cellular network.

 

90% or more of the 820 G3's do not have the WWAN option.

 

In order for the SIM card to do anything, your notebook must have one of the following WWAN adapters present in the device manager under the Network Adapters device manager category.

 

HP lt4120 LTE/EVDO/HSPA
HP hs31110 HSPA
