HP Notebook - 17-ca0056nr
Processor AMD A9-9425 RADEON R5, - 5 COMPUTE CORES - 2C+3G - 3.10 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.46 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Bought this notebook new from Best buy for hubby. Was suppose to be a gaming system. LOL I should have taken it back but I really thought it would speed up as it updated itself.
Can anyone tell me WHY this NoteBook is so slow at startup and slow opening pages on line opening app too slow slow slow? Can I buy anting to speed it up like more ram. He does not use it to play games in fact he just goes online reads FB and FB groups and nothing else. It is virus clean.

Hi,
What you should do is replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD which will greatly improve the everyday performance of the PC for a cheap price. You can get from your preferred brand and capacity
Example
On page 44 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985614.pdf
Before swapping drives you can create bootable media with Windows 10 on it. You can then use this USB drive to install the OS on the SSD
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
After installation go into settings and completly update the machine so Windows will find the needed drivers.
Hope it helps,
David
