My computer is about 2 years old and it has started running very slowly. With some pages not loading at all. It does not matter what wifi or browser I am on. All of my things are up to date on updates. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi @wheels6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When a computer starts running slowly and having trouble loading pages, there could be several reasons behind it. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check for Malware: Run a full scan using a reputable antivirus software to check for any malware or viruses that could be slowing down your system. Malware can consume system resources and affect internet connectivity.
- Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, accumulated cache and cookies in your web browser can slow down browsing speed and cause pages not to load properly. Clear the cache and cookies in your browser settings.
- Check Network Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and working properly. Try connecting to different Wi-Fi networks to see if the issue persists. If possible, connect your computer directly to the router via an Ethernet cable to rule out any Wi-Fi-related issues.
- Restart Your Router: Sometimes, simply restarting your router can resolve internet connectivity issues.
- Update Network Drivers: Make sure that your network drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the Device Manager, locating your network adapter, right-clicking on it, and selecting "Update driver."
- Check for Background Processes: Open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check for any background processes consuming a lot of CPU or memory. End any unnecessary processes that might be slowing down your computer.
- Disk Cleanup: Use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool on your computer to delete temporary files and free up disk space.
- Check for System Updates: Even though you mentioned that your system is up to date, it's worth double-checking for any pending updates, including operating system updates and driver updates.
- Hardware Check: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem such as a failing hard drive or insufficient RAM.
- Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can consider performing a factory reset on your computer. This will erase all your personal data, so make sure to back up important files before proceeding. Factory resetting will revert your computer to its original state, potentially resolving any software-related issues.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the slow performance and internet connectivity issues with your HP Envy computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
