HP 17 Laptop PC 17-c2000 (4V792AV)

I'm so angry that my laptop failed firmware update again and again as it's a feature of HP laptops. Does someone can extract bios update files for HP 17 Laptop PC 17-c2000 (4V792AV)? Since HP devs live in world where you need windows pc near by to flash bios

It's ridiculous, tbh. If you're offering to fix the issues with HP software in such way, you should send me another Windows computer to do it. What if I live in the mountains and the closest Windows PC is 700 km away? That's ridiculous. I just disassembled my laptop to fix the issues AGAIN. I removed the CMOS battery and the laptop battery, and it booted, bypassing the failed BIOS update. I then made a USB drive to fix the issues caused by HP's developers with zero skill. Anyway thanks for your affort, have a good time

Hi @Yotsuya,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds frustrating to experience repeated failures when updating the firmware on your HP laptop. Unfortunately, the typical process for updating the BIOS on HP laptops does require access to a working Windows PC, as the BIOS update tools provided by HP are usually Windows-based.

However, if you have access to another Windows PC, you can download the BIOS update for your HP 17 Laptop PC 17-c2000 (4V792AV) from the HP support website and create a bootable USB drive to flash the BIOS on your laptop. Here’s how you can proceed:

Steps to Create a Bootable USB for BIOS Update:

Download the BIOS Update:

  • Visit the HP support website and search for your specific model (HP 17 Laptop PC 17-c2000).
  • Download the latest BIOS update file for your model.

Prepare a Bootable USB Drive:

  • On a working Windows PC, insert a USB flash drive.
  • Run the BIOS update executable file you downloaded.
  • The tool should give you the option to create a bootable USB drive.

Flash the BIOS on Your HP Laptop:

  • Insert the bootable USB drive into your HP 17 Laptop PC 17-c2000 (4V792AV).
  • Restart the laptop and boot from the USB drive (you may need to change the boot order in the BIOS settings or use a specific key like F9 during startup to select the boot device).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to update the BIOS.

If you are unable to access a Windows PC or if the BIOS update process continues to fail, you might consider reaching out to HP Phone Support for assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
