Lately I'm facing weird problem with my laptop.
When I plug in laptop for charging within 1-2 minutes it crashes and when it restarts it does not detect SSD
if I unplug and and restart it will start properly and work as usual till I plug it in again
Initially I thought it is due to over heating so I got it cleaned, fan had layer of dust, however it did not fix issue.
Laptop does get heated up quite good on charging, it will still can be handled so not too hot but more than normal
Any suggestions on what could be the issue?

@shutdownmode Welcome to HP Forums Community!
To resolve all issues related to overheating, since that's one of the issues you've mentioned: Click here for steps.
That said, the battery drivers could be reinstalled for started and I suggest a test along with a calibration of the battery and here's how you do it: Click here
(follow the below steps for battery driver reinstallation)
- Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
- Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
- Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
- Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Let me know how that pans out,

So I tried all options except waiting till 15% and then waiting for 30 min as did not had time to do that when battery was 15% Will try that tomorrow As of now no change in situation, crashed when plugged in today while using laptop (tried so hard to update this from mobile but looks like site is not meant to work on mobile!!)

@shutdownmode We have been experiencing a few issues with mobile users lately, and it's being worked on, should be sorted soon, that said, I recommend performing the test on the battery using the link I shared earlier, or simply try the below steps and let me know about the results:
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click Component Tests.
- Click the Battery Test.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
- While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

I ran battery check and quick hard disk check as well
both passed
I have observed one more thing, if I put in charge and use laptop when battery is fully charged and still plugged in it does not crash!!
One more thing i observed was Terminal voltage was 1000 mV higher than design voltage
Design voltage was 11400mV and Terminal Voltage was 12800 mV

@shutdownmode
Thank you for posting back.
This sounds like hardware related issue and it's not normal voltage "Design voltage was 11400mV "and Terminal Voltage was 12800 mV.
l would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
