I have a HP ENVY x360 Laptop. Serial number (edited). I accidentally spilled soda on the laptop and believe is got into all the charging ports going into the motherboard. The laptop will now not turn on at all yet when I press the power button the light pops up but then disappears and the laptop is still a black blank screen. Is there anyway to salvage this?

@Ninarenee10, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your HP ENVY x360 Laptop. Spilling liquid on electronics can cause significant damage. Here are some steps you can try to salvage your laptop:

Immediate Action:

  • First, ensure that the laptop is completely turned off and unplugged from any power source. If possible, remove the battery (if it is removable).

Dry the Laptop:

  • Wipe away any residual liquid using a soft lint-free cloth. Tilt the laptop to allow excess liquid to drain out.
  • You can use gentle airflow, such as a fan, to help dry out the laptop. Avoid using heat sources like hairdryers as they can cause further damage.

Inspect for Visible Damage:

  • Open the laptop and visually inspect the internal components for any signs of corrosion or residue. If you are not comfortable doing this, it might be best to seek professional assistance.

Professional Repair:

  • Since liquid damage can be complicated, it might be necessary to seek assistance from a professional technician. HP authorized repair services can assess the extent of the damage and provide options for repair or replacement of affected components.

Backup and Data Recovery:

  • If the laptop can be powered on, attempt to back up your important data as soon as possible in case further failures occur.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
