Hi, I spilt some Fanta on my laptop keyboard (bottom right corner where the arrows are). I immediately tipped it to the side to let it drip out and I wiped it with a dry tissue and then some 70% isopropyl alcohol and diluted cleaning detergent. I even hoovered over the area (as I read that is better than using a blow dryer)
I left it upside down (For about 15mins) and nothing more came out. I’ve left upside down for now as well And will leave it till tomorrow.
it was switched on when the spill occurred and I pressed the power button to switch it off.
I’ve managed to switch it on again And it seems to be working fine (but may be too soon to know if any damage has been done).
im going to need to use my laptop to sit remote exams in a few months and am getting worried that it will crash or stop working during the exam or something. Any advice on how to determine if it’s working fine and will be fine?
I did a hardware check for the keyboard (not sure if that’s what it’s actually called but I went to device manager and clicked keyboard and check hardware- it said this device is working normally).
any advice would be appreciated so thank you! I’m really stressing out about what to do to reassure myself that it’ll be okay to use during the exams (if that’s even true ie it may not be okay and I’ll need a backup device)

Hi,
You should let it dry for at least about 24 hours without turning on and remove charger.
Once it i completely dry, it can take time for complete drying, turn it on and see how all is going. If it is working most likely no permanent damage was made and you will see in daily use if keyboard and rest is ok before the exams.
What is rhe model of the notebook?
