After noticing that there was an update and my laptop was asking to restart, I did as usual but the problem was that when it restarted, it just went on a neverending loop and can't access my Windows 11 anymore. I haven't had this problem in the last 3 years, it is the first time something like this happens. Can someone help me please? I tried EVERYTHING, forced shutdown, automatic repair (which for some reason it doesn't load either, it just gives me a dog watch error code and restart the laptop by itself) tried to access with F11 to go on Safe Mode but it doesn't load either, put the BIOS in default mode, and did a fast and extensive diagnostic test and apparently everything is fine (all PASSED) but nothing has worked, IT STILL STAYS WITH THAT NEVERENDING LOOP! 😞

Hi @LuiggiBros

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m sorry you’re stuck in that frustrating startup loop—it’s unsettling when the system refuses to load even after diagnostics show everything is fine.

Since you’ve already tried Safe Mode, BIOS reset, and HP diagnostics, the issue is most likely with the Windows boot files or update corruption rather than hardware.

Let’s go step by step to regain access:

Step 1: Access Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

  • Power on the laptop and as soon as Windows begins to load, hold the power button until it shuts down.
  • Repeat this forced shutdown three times.
  • On the fourth boot, Windows should automatically enter the Recovery Environment.

Step 2: Use Advanced Options

Once in WinRE:

  1. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options.
  2. Try Startup Repair again. If it fails, move to the next option.
  3. Choose Uninstall Updates > Uninstall Latest Quality Update. This can roll back the problematic update.
  4. If that doesn’t help, select System Restore (if restore points exist).

Step 3: Rebuild Boot Configuration

If none of the above works:

  • In Advanced Options, open Command Prompt.
  • Run the following commands one by one:
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd
  • Restart the laptop after completing.

Step 4: Reset the PC (Last Resort)

  • In WinRE, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  • Choose Keep my files to reinstall Windows while preserving personal data.
  • This clears corrupted system files while keeping your documents intact.

These steps should help break the loop and restore Windows.

Nope, nothing, it doesn't load, but thank you for your advice. When it goes to the Automatic Repair option, it also loops but the difference that it does that for a while (maybe about 2 minutes) and then it says that my device ran into a problem and needs to restart and the laptop restarts by itself. There is this code, though: "Stop Code: DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG (0x1D5)" shown at the bottom of the screen. Once it restarts, it goes again to the infinite loop trying to startup Windows 11 but with no luck. Any other advice?
